Disagree with # 10
The family is the priority, the joy you get from your family will not get from your job. The birth of your first child or birthday means a lot for you and you will and should not miss that. The business will not demand that you leave your family and come here to finish this task. The IT is in our life from may be last 10-20 years and you may get retire after few years but family will be there in your good and bad times. I agree if you have job > you will have money but I believe we should not work there where the work demands your presence leaving behind your family and to give importance to their business. The simple solution is they should hire one more IT guy for additional support for out of office hours.
