Just put the cursor into the pdf in Acrobat Reader and press control a, wait until all you see becomes blue, and then control c. Wait until the system has finished copying the file and then paste it into your favorite text processor. All the text should have been properly copied. If it says there was an error in copying or in pasting the file, you can usually disregard it, but better verify.

If there are pictures or graphics, you may have to copy each individually and paste in the proper place one by one, but it works like a charm.
