What Sound Chip Set do you have Realtech, Creative or one of the others?

When you reloaded did you connect to the Windows Update Servers before loading the Sound Driver?

Where did you get the Driver that you used and are you sure that it's the right one?

If you open the Control Panel and then the Sounds & Audio Devices under the Audio Tab what is listed in the Drop Down Menu?
