Not Sure I agree.
Outlook does many things that Thunderbird does not do. Such as a calendar, Task List, Notes, Journal, Contact List, All in one unified place, In addition , in an Exchange enviroment you can utilize public Calendars Contacts etc etc Even if you compare them head to head as e-mail clients . Outlook in my opinion is far superior. But you get what you pay for. Thunderbird is an exceptional product don't get me wrong. But Microsoft has sunk some serious time and resources into Outlook and it shows.
