Not necessarily
Considering all of the updates in programming languages that is is necessary to keep up with as well as the updates in SQL Server, and Oracle that I need to keep track of I have no time left to spend on becoming expert in Excel, Word and my personal bete noir, MS Project. It is already bad enough I have to spend my own time and money to keep up with the changes that directly affect my job. Learning all the stuff now needed to do administrative crap like keeping track of time, generating task orders, and generating work reports is almost impossible. Then Microsoft's move away from the reliable menu we had been using since the early 90s to this stupid ribbon has made it almost impossible to figure out how to do the things you already knew how to do.

Adminstrative Assistant is not in my job description.
