The Systems Management System Admin Pack allows you to use the SMS Administrator Console from a client workstation to perform a varienty of IT tasks including remote desktop assistance to other workstations and servers within the respective SMS Site Collection database. SMS has been replaced with the System Center Configuration Manager. We are not in a position to completely upgrade to Windows 7 or to the SCCM, but do have Windows 7 installed an several workstations, primarily in the IT department. We usually install the SMS Admin Pack on each IT workstation, which allows you to use SMS Admin Console from the client. The SMS Admin pack will install on Windows 7 clients, but doesn't work. The collection of devices stored in the SMS Server database does not display at all on the Windows 7 clients, which makes using SMS impossible. Does any one know if there is a way to make the SMS (2003) Administrator Console work with a Windows 7 client?
