Pathetic
As I've said in previous posts in this thread, I think a lot depends on what you do with your computer. I know there are a lot of people here who do little more than read email, surf the web, and maybe play solitaire. Based on your message, I'm guessing you are one of those people.

For the rest of us, the new features in each new version of Windows bring many opportunities to do things we couldn't do before. Being able to run 64 bit applications, being able to use more than 3 GB of RAM, being able to group many different folders on different disks into Libraries, and on and on...

Just because you don't need these features, or are too old or too lazy to learn to use them, doesn't mean the rest of us are fools for wanting better ways to do things with our computers.

And what is wrong with the one guy who said he installed Windows 8 for his whole family? How was he getting "religious" and why is it "pathetic" to want to try out something new? Are you just nervous because the rest of the world moves faster than you can handle, and you know your skills will soon be obsolete?
