This is the crux of the issue: you seem to believe most users are drones in large corporations. It simply isn't the case; most users are individuals or small businesses. But because we don't bring in as much profit for Microsoft, we get forced, when we need to replace our computers, to use an OS less and less designed to make our lives easier, but rather designed to turn users into obedient drones, where 'choice' is a subset of corporate policy.
