@rick: I hope I won't offend your sensibilities by saying this (it is certainly NOT my intention - one can strongly disagree with ideas while having the utmost respect for the person holding them), but you really sound like a broken record or a religious zealot. As if the move towards Metro and W8 was inevitable and we should all obey this 'inevitable progress'. What planet are you living on? Have you ever gotten out of your ivory tower?

Like I said before: the world is big enough place for all kinds of people and all kinds of operating systems, but most importantly, all kinds of UIs, and the market will prevail. I'd suggest you get out of your cubicle, go outside and feel the wind: It's NOT a Microsoft Only World anymore.
