@SmartAceW0lf - People Skills
I will be the first to admit, I am more of a technician that a "people person." I know my people skills leave plenty to be desired. That's why I employ a salesman for my company, while I try to stick to the technical work.
I keep blabbing about learning new things, and this is one area where I am trying very hard to learn new things. I think I am improving, but I have to admit that when someone like Vucliriel starts attacking me and insulting me, I might be too quick to sink to his level.
I also have to admit that I do find it pretty outrageous to come to a forum for people who work in IT, and find so many people making comments like "I spent 10 minutes with Windows 8 and that is all I need to know that I hate it." I just don't see how anyone can possibly make an informed, intelligent decision after a mere 10 minutes. I really do think it is outrageous, and I really do think that people who make such comments are really just showing off their stupidity to the world. I'm not saying anyone has to like Windows 8, but all these comments about how people can't figure out how to get to the desktop, or can't figure out how to do something else, after spending 10 minutes, suggests to me that they are either unwilling to even try to learn something new, or they are incapable of learn something new.
I also suspect that part of the problem here is that people are jumping into the middle of the debate, without having read all the post, without having read all of Vuclieriel's posts, etc., and just assuming that I am the bad guy.
Again, I will apologize for my lack of people skills. I will also apologize for not being very good at clearly expressing my views. And finally, I will apologize again for sinking to Vucliriel's level in the debate.
