This discussion is kind of old now, so I don't know how much response you will get, but if you do get any responses, you can be sure that many of them will be attacking you for thinking Windows 8 is better than XP, or that it is in any way a step forward. I bet you will also get criticism for "demanding" that everyone replace their mouse with a $50 touchpad device, even though all you did was suggest that such a device might be the way of the future.
For me, personally, I spent a few hours playing around with Wndows 8, and then work got busy and I just haven't had a chance to go back and play with it more. I thought it looked interesting and had potential to be quite useful. But I just don't have enough experience with it to really step up and say "yeah, it's great!"
Unfortunately, too many people in this forum feel that they are being attacked if anyone dares to say that a newer version of Windows is better than XP or W2K, or some older version of Windows.
I'm glad to hear you have had good experiences so far with Windows 8, and I look forward to spending more time with it soon.
