If you want to build the same OS for a desktop and a phone/tablet, you are going to have an OS that is half, or more, the cost of a new phone/tablet OR it's going to generate less than half the revenue that Windows 7 brought from PC sales. That is an awful big gamble on tablets replacing PCs.

At this rate they'll be affordable about 3 years after Apple declares them obsolete and terminates all support, all software updates, etc.
