Well, Android maintains a sync connection with Google as long as the user has it enabled, which is going to be in most instances for almost all users. So it'll go out and check email, contacts, calendaring, etc., and if your users are making changes on the relevant accounts on their computers, then yes, it's going to send that info to the phone.

It's what it's designed to do, after all.
