IRQ NOT EQUAL OR LESS caused by atapi.sys-atapi+5688
I am getting a BSOD when I try to load into safe mode with the above error. I replaced the atapi.sys driver from the xp disc using the recovery console but still its BSODing, I am running XP SP3, fully updated, the stop error codes are as follows: 0x01, 0x44f73c4c, 0x05, 0x0, 0xf771D688. I ran the MEMORY dump through debugging tools for windows x86 (without any symbols) and it came back with atapi.sys. so im stumped, any help much appreciated.

Regards

Darren

PS. the mobo is Abit AN7 bios ver.6.00, I cannot find support for this board so is it out of date/support? the strange this is I can get the computer to boot normally but cant get it to boot into safe mode, I looked through the IRQ list and I cant really see any conflicts but possible did not have 'show hidden devices' ticked. can anybody shed any light on what this might be?
