An interface is only one that can be visually searched. Text input? No.
There is nothing worse than an interface that assumes your both know how to spell and know the correct term name for the item you are looking up. This is why the hierarchical menu system was invented.
In fact, I mentioned to Microsoft years ago that the Windows key when held down for more than 5 seconds should to a HUD to overlay the names of the screen elements then allow either another key press or mouse click to start a tutorial about them.
