As an IT Trainer I find it interesting that it's hard to fill. I am the one who trains our end users on using the technology in our organization. I love what I do! The secret is to hire someone who can train rather than only someone who knows technology. Better yet, do it like the person who hired me. I had a basic user knowledge of most standard software. When she hired me she saw that I could train and turned me loose to learn what I was hired to train. So MANY times I was only a few steps ahead of those I am training. I have found that end users feel more comfortable with that sometimes because they know I have only recently "felt their pain" along with the fact that I could speak a language they understood. I have had some HUGE learning curves that have thrown me a few times but I love it so much! I've learned a lot and I'm very nearly at "geek" level now in my technical skills (alas, I am only at nerd level for now but learning!).
