This repeats the new war like if we had remembered the war between Microsoft vs. Apple and we well know how that stopped. It???s simply a subject of time at this point.
@anjali189, the Mac never had a larger installed base than all Windows PC manufacturers combined (The Mac topped out at 11% in the late 80's) and Macs have never had quarterly unit sales Marketshare only a little behind Windows PCs.
In addition, the Mac OS never had far more software than Windows and neither did it ever have vastly more 3rd party hardware peripherals, accessories and add-ons than Windows PCs.
Back in 1992, it was most definitely not the case that 50% of homes in the USA had Apple products or that 48% of school kids aspired to owning a Mac. The Mac OS never had significantly more developers than Windows and Mac devs never made 6x more income than Windows devs.
All of these points are however actually the reality with Apple's iOS platform compared to Android as you can see from my other post below.

Yet again, everyone ignores the 70 million or so iPod touches that have been sold. Also, if they are including GoogleTV in their infographic, where is the AppleTV which also runs iOS?
Are analysts that dumb that they don't realize the iPod touch also runs iOS and apps just like the iPhone and the iPad?
And what is it with only plotting the iPhone against all Android phones? If they're comparing operating systems then for goodness sake compare operating systems and show the iPad and iPod touch as well.
Seeing that graph, what do people think? Why they think that Android is far larger than iOS and that developers will concentrate on that platform, so better go with Android as that is where the most seats are. Well guess what - that conclusion is completely false.

Google may have activated 800,000 Android devices every day of the Christmas quarter, but Apple sold around 700,000 iOS devices per day (15.4 million iPads, 37 million iPhones and 8 million iPod touches) over that same timeframe.
The reason you compare operating system platforms is to compare the size of the respective app platforms, media platforms, web browsing platforms and content platforms. All three of Apple's iOS form factors need to be included if your comparison isn't to become a complete farce.
