The display
danbi 13th Apr 2012
It is impressive that HP has gone cheap with the display. What is the purpose of 27" HDTV resolution display, when HP already sells 27" displays with 2560x1440 resolution...

The price difference of the display alone makes the iMac in fact cheaper if we talk about "comparable" configuration. The Thunderbolt and FIreWire will make the difference even more impressive.

I agree on the display. Even though most consumers are buying monitors less than 1080p because of price (1600x900 for $99). Mac users don't even realize their monitors are higher than 1080p.
USB 3.0 is faster than firewire and more readily available, than both firewire and thunderbolt, with accessories. Consumers are more comfortable with USB. Which is only 2.0 on the iMac. Apple will prob kill firewire in the next 5 years or so and go solely thunderbolt.

HP?

Will someone please correct me? I thought HP was getting out of hardware and was just going to become a solution/consulting company?

they fired the CEO that came up with that plan, and put a new CEO in place (or was it president?), who quickly reversed it. What was not reversed, however, is the death of the HP tablet, which he pronounced within days of its launch
