I now have 50 reasons to never visit Seattle; usually when techrepublic emails me about these...it's a welcome distraction, but goodness gracious. What an unfit and unattractive population up there in the Pacific Northwest. This is what happens when you don't get sun and don't have to hunt for your dinner.

Please keep your idea of us up here in the Pacific Northwest. We would do a lot better up here is everyone that was not from here would GET LOST!

Anytime someone says 50 sexy anything, you gotta look! Then you see these pics and swear the observer must have been a hardup inmate somewhere, probably for the last 20 years or so. Heck a pillow probably gets them excited. Thats why they don't want to be compared to the rest of the world standards.

The title of this article is to attract the male audience. Photos should be taken by the male audience.

I like lack of sun and hunting for your dinner, otherwise arrogant bitch. This goes for all you people who have nothing to do but imagine yourselves to be better looking than this group. Perhaps you are. How pathetic that you feel obligated to comment in this discouragingly uneducated manner and pretend to some superiority, based on God-knows-what.

The criticisms seem to me to be not so much of the people in costume as the choice of them by the author. If this had been a list of "fifty gorgeous houses" and many of them were ordinary suburban properties, you wouldn't assume that criticism was being levelled at the owners of the homes - the same applies here. Discouragingly uneducated? It's true - I dropped out of high school, but it seems that you're the one dealing the superiority out...

Hmm... Although I went though the list twice to be sure, the best count I could come up with was three (3). I hope these were all attendees rather than paid models, because it's rather disappointing otherwise. (Sorry ladies...not my job to lie to prop up anyone's self-esteem)

YOU gotta be kidding me! 50 sexy outfits? NOT EVEN 25 good ones, less than 10 almost sexy, and the models....from fat and the furious? Only the last one looked to be in good physical shape/condition. Costume and colored hair does nothing for me, the condition of the body says it all. If you thought these were sexy, you must have spent the last 20 years in a s.c. cell, somewhere. SAD!!~Joe

Yep, this is proof positive: I had always heard Seattle had 10 good looking women at one time, but five of them moved to North Carolina and the others are attending beauty school in Florida.

These are pretty good. Considering the standard at cons is 50 pounds overweight with bad skin, you found a pretty good-looking lot.

Although for looking natural, I'd say number 41 doesn't even look like a costume.. she just LOOKS like how a Twi'lek would be in real life, strolling down the street. Pretty impressive.

If I am not mistaken, there were only 49 costumes. Picture #13 and #39 look like the same person.

I was there and while there were some atrocities, there were lots of sexy costumes. However there were maybe 5 in that gallery that were hot, a few that were ok, and most were just disturbing. I think the problem is that the columnist, Sonja Thompson, is clearly an extremely straight woman who doesn't know what a guy's definition of sexy is. No insult to her.

Yea there were some nasties there but overall I liked it. something different and entertaining.

Comic / Sci-fi / Fantasy cans are mostly just real ordinary people dressing up in costumes of their favorites characters. You can't expect all of them to look like supermodels or have theater-quality costumes. Most of these costumes were really good and the people wearing them looked the part. I think people's standards of beauty are disproportionately high. But then this is because of Hollywood and beauty magazines. Trust me, this is FAR from the worst you could possibly see at a con. Be thankful there are no pictures of Man-Faye here.

Although I will say, the person who chose these photos certainly likes Catwoman and Poison Ivy a LOT.
