On Environmental issues
The Chinese are thrilled to get orders to build iPhones. They earn money and a lot of guys get employed for this. How polluted their water, air and food is, is a reflection of their internal standards imposed. Local Government and bodies in China need to face up to these threats and respond adequately. As every local government.
I would like to know how many phones get disposed off v/s recycled. Recycling is good. The recycling factory next needs to cleanly separate out the materials and ensure minimum pollution and waste. Everyone gains.
The only question (unanswered) I have is, if the environmental and pollution standards in all manufacturing and recycling sites of iPhone were the same as that in the US, what would be the true cost of an iPhone? Any answer MBA Online?
