Ubuntu for Andriod was launched fairly recently, allows dual booting of your Andriod smartphone phone. If you choose Ubuntu you get the full Linux Ubuntu desktop without the need of a thin client.

All you need is a phone dock to connect to a Monitor, Keyboard and mouse. Really a cool solution and no Google Adware or data mining to help drain your battery, or make it charge more slowly!
