I don't use a smart phone and I don't text, but I do have a tablet, and I notice that if I play Angry Birds for too long that I have pain in my wrist. I also have De Quervain's Tenosivitis in my thumb. The injury was originally a sprained thumb, but it couldn't heal because of my constant keyboard and mouse use. After a cortisone shot and 3 months of splinting, it's usable, but I keep a thumb and wrist splint in my office and at home and when it starts hurting, I splint for several days to give it a rest. Eventually, I'll have to have surgery on the thumb to release the tendon.
