Yes, there's a lot of funny stuff done with job titles and duties. The whole point of the resume and any other job search documentation, including your online presence, is to be REAL. If you polish up the old resume so it's nice, but it isn't really you, then the employer is going to be frustrated when you show up to interview...just as you would be if the job opening was not as advertised.
