Recruiters recruiting in India
Job Titles today are misleading. While looking for a job, these recruiters based in India call me up and email me with open positions for Lab Technician. This job description is generic and covers a lot of ground and is one of those BUZZ word titles. They fail to really read the resume, because if they did, they would know what type of Lab Technician I was. My title was generic as such, but under SKILLS if they would have READ, it tells what type and what field I was in. I also list what degree I have, but do they look at that? NO! They try to recruit me for positions having a higher degree requirement and in a field totally not even close to my field. The buzz word you hear these days is that they don't have TIME. Well, my thought is that if you don't have time to thoroughly go over a Resume, then how can you effectively hire the best of the best? Not a company I would want to work for if they don't understand what qualifications you have and what you can bring to the company. A good many recruiters obviously are only looking out for their bottom line here and have no real interest in helping you find a meaningful job. We need to get back to the simple basics we had years ago when a garbage man was a garbage man and a janitor was a janitor. and while we are at it, cut costs by eliminating all this targeted selection crap, which they now even use for minimum wage jobs. Come on. Really? This type of selection process, from what I have observed in numerous companies, doesn't give any better workers, and in some cases, worse. They could save themselves a whole lot of time and money by just going back to the basics, and probably end up with people that actually do real work.
