All the (good) software developers I know continue to get excited about new technologies that honestly improve on the status quo. We still love love learning the new and making the old better, and most of us have been doing this long enough to have long ago gone gray with what little hair we have left.

That said, we're also universally critical of change for little more than change sake (Office Ribbon, anybody?), and completely unapologetic of Microsoft's efforts of late to reinvent everything. Justin is absolutely correct - there are not enough hours in the day for a skilled MS developer to keep up with the scope and magnitude of never-ending changes in the Microsoft universe. If you think your skills are current now, it's only because you don't yet know about the latest changes.
