I don't know what you were looking at, but Password Safe is completely free and open source. No limits, no ads. The database I use at work has 82 entries. My home database is even larger.

The main project is Windows-based, but there are ports for Linux, Mac, iPhone, Android, Blackberry, Windows Mobile, and more.
