Sign of the times......

We live in a world where everyone has the right to do anything, and you cant say anything about it....... after all, everybody gets a trophy now, right?
Somebody else will hire him, no problem.
Is it wrong to pad your resume? Absolutely. Those that do so ought to be fired. But is it also wrong for an employer to have job requirements that have nothing to do with the job itself? I have no idea what Thompson was the CEO of, but he was apparently good at his job despite not having the degree. Maybe Yahoo (and other employers) should take a step back and evaluate what is truly necessary and required by the position they want to fill.

Well my take on this is they were looking to oust this guy. obviously if he was doing a good job the board would not have let him resign and or someone would have noticed the mistake. I guess this one line item will make him a few million dollars in compensation. I cannot wait to see that number. maybe that was his plan.

I guess their HR and their board of directors also does not do background checks on their top employees, or check references.
Then they would have overlooked it.

I think they were looking for reasons to fire the guy and found one. Otherwise why would they be going through his resume months after he was hired - the time to verify the resume is before you make an offer.
