As I mentioned in my earlier post (page 1 of the thread), losing one's job for displaying an opinion when that opinion doesn't impact the job, represent a conflict of interest or harm another is wrong. Without the full context of the 'crime' or the ruling we can't say for sure but if the dude lost his job for suggesting on facebook that he 'liked' a certain politician (or what-have-you) then there was no basis for the firing.

I think we may be on the same page here.
