Tech Republic (and CNet, ZDNet, ad nauseum) does not need quality,
They need eyeballs on the screen to view all the advertising. The more controversial the blog, the more eyeballs, and thus more income from the advertisers. Tech Republic does not need proofreaders, good spelling, nor good grammar. They just need people to throw out tons of verbiage, the more controversial the better. Then they package all this info into various newsletters and email it to the masses such that if a person subscribes to several newsletters 'dedicated' to specific subjects they will be alerted to the same 'new' content via 15 different emails.
