Do you find yourself needing to enable older help files? Have you downloaded the file Greg mentions in this blog post?
This is especially good to know, as I tend to hold onto software until the newer version of Windows just will no longer run it.

Now, I'm assuming that what this does is convert the .HLP files on-the-fly. Is there a utility that will convert the files from the .HLP format to a newer Windows 7-style format? Also, does the .CHM (Compiled HTML Help) file just have a funky look to it, or will it not display at all?

...once the WinHlp32.exe files are installed, they essentially function as a reader and allow the HLP files to be read in Windows 7.

As I mentioned, the CHM files are readable in Windows 7, but not all the links and features function in Windows 7.

I'm still looking into the CHM angle though...

Some are shorter than others :

1- Find old WinXP CD.
2- Search for "WINHLP32.EX_" and it's help files if needed.
3- Unpack and copy to \windows folder.
4- Shift-right click a dot hlp file and chose to permanently open them with new executable...
