Once while supporting a school librarian (MANY years ago) a friend of mine was trying to get a printer to print. The printer was connected to an Apple II - that gives you the time frame. After checking that all the DIP switch settings (we used to have a line of 8 switches that were either on or off to set the baud rate and stuff like that), my friend was at the end of his tether, when the librarian asked "What position should the (spell the letter) O...N / O...F...F switch be in?"
