Wrong printer
My own wrong-printer story happened when I was teaching an AI course on a mainframe. We were using Eliza; I had pointed out in class the part of the pattern matcher that detects and responds to profanity (which I'd pretty much toned down completely; I think the strongest thing I'd left in was "damn").

Three students were later having a great time in the lab trying every off-color word they could think of to see Eliza's (non)-response, and printing the results using printscreen. Or trying to print, at any rate. But despite repeated attempts they got no output, because it turned out that due to a system configuration error it was all going to the Dean's office printer downstairs.
