Water first, then alcohol
I used to do a lot of underwater photography, with gadgetry that now and then got wet (especially in salt water), like strobe lights, cameras, etc. The tried-and-true remedy was to immediately flush them thoroughly in fresh water, then a final rinse in isopropyl alcohol. The fresh-water flush got rid of the impurities in the original wetness (e.g., salt, coffee, sugar), and the alcohol bath just sped up the evaporation of the water.
