That's my main reason, the other one is I like the freedom to do whatever I want with it.
Linux doesn't need that much maintenance either. Plus, their are hundreds of Linux distro's to choose from, and only 3 Windows OS (XP,Vista, 7). I don't use Macs but I know their are at least 2 OS's from Apple. I like having a variety of things
