I've watched so many proprietary software vendors and proponents push approaches to try to undercut the simple math supporting the argument in this article. My eyes don't even roll anymore, they're so worn out. Be interesting to see if it happens here as well.

There is no free lunch. I'm typing this on a Linux computer through an open-source browser. If the product is worth having, be prepared for the possibility you'll have to spend some money to give it a real trial. There is no requirement that open-source software be free of charge.
I know it is very easy to be cynical about these schemes after all the false starts and errors of the past but anything which brings open-source products and philosophy to the attention of governments and the public in general can only be a good thing for it!
Lets see how it goes....:)
