I call to your attention Peter Cappelli's new book _Why Good People Can't Get Jobs: The Skills Gap and What Companies Can Do About It_. When I first saw the cover I though it said "The Skills Con and What...", but I think maybe "The Skills Scam..." would be more accurate.

Anyway, in the Amazon blurb, he addresses "hiring process being held hostage by automated software that can crunch thousands of applications an hour". Again, I would have used the word "shred" or "destroy" or "mutilate" instead of "crunch".
