Do you require anonymous browsing from time to time? How do you accomplish the task?
Need to test your firewall, Apache permissions or general website as an "outsider".. go through Tor.
My personal preference is to have Tor setup as a local socks proxy so any network program can be run through it. For network programs that do not support Socks proxies, Tsocks proxy your non-Socks apps (on Linux based platforms, not sure about others).

Thanks for sharing some neat ideas for using Tor. I like trying to show folks that Tor really is useful and not just for shadier things like the Bitcoin-backed black market.
I work in a library where we need to be able to test our links (especially for databases) both internally and externally. TOR gives me an external IP address outside of the college's range so that I can see what our patrons see from at home or work. Very handy for that.

In my college we have to use some fixed proxy to connect to internet
