This article was posted in 2006 and refers to Office 2003. The shortcut works fine for me in Word 2007. I'll check in Word 2010 when I get home, but I don't see why it wouldn't.

Are you using the cursor keys or the arrow keys in the numeric keyb\pad. It does make a difference...
