It's difficult to determine what add-ons are associated with a given application. Addons Detector will help in that regard, allowing you to decide whether to keep the app or not.

I have been using this for a few months myself and it's good information, One time I started seeing ads in my notification bar and had downloaded a few apps in the prior week. A quick run of this pointed the offending app and I uninstalled immediately. Some people don't like social gaming apps such as Feint. This will show app installed apps that use it. As for permissions there are a few apps that will basically allow you to deny a permission to an app. It is not for the unskilled or faint of heart as removing certain permissions can make your phone unusable. It's just some apps ask for permissions that they would not normally need and you need to beware of those.

I don't know of anyone that likes push ads. It will be interesting to see if they magically disappear or transform into something else.
