For anyone wanting Windows 8. I'm not in love with the navigation on desktops.
I also like that the Media Center is also getting thrown in (to stay on par with older OS).
I jumped on an MS offer of 3 Win7 Home Premium upgrade licenses for $149 (w/ 32 and 64 bit media) and never regretted it. Two licenses upgrade Vista laptops and increased the performance of both, and the third set up a dual boot on a 64 bit AMD with XP.
One of the laptops is fairly old and running a 1.3Ghz Celeron, so a Surface tablet may be more likely to replace it. Might also pop on it for the home desktop if I can dual boot, just to look at Metro programming.
