I call my sister and she won't call me back, as I can "keep up on what she's doing" on Facebook. Trouble is, all I see on there is how many points she made in some game, or a re-post of something she likes. There is nothing about how she's doing, etc. It isn't interactive (unless I catch her online and there is some plain text "chat window" that really doesn't give me a feel for how she's doing. I could be typing to a stranger for all I know.)
She lives in a town not too far away, but it's hard to get there lately, with gas prices, time concerns, etc.
I prefer the "personal" contact via telephone. I suppose, when we all have video on or phones this will be even better. Posting game scores or re-posting someone else comments just don't do it for me.
I keep in better touch with my brother, who is in another state, and uses the telephone, rather than the internet!
Another concern, if you use one of these services to keep in touch with business contacts, who is to say that your competition will not be able to see that? It's bad business practice.
