Where I work we do not get a choice to wear casual. Our title and pay determines what we wear to work. Hourly employees wear slacks, button up and a tie. Salaried employees wear a full suit and tie. On one end of the spectrum, yes there probably is too casual, but on the other end there is too overdressed as well. How many programmers do you know that have to wear a suit and tie to work everyday??? That is what I have to wear - and I don't really care for it.
