Mapquest rarely gets mentioned but it is what i use instead of google maps, has browser version and iPhone version.
Works like "Streets and Trips" but you can also map your data. Drop in an Excel file with population numbers or some kind of geostatistics and the map will change to reflect those numbers. There's even an add-in for SQL server.
Google maps are by far most detailed, easy on eye and have the most efficient geo-caching. The only problem is plotting of multiple coordinates, but there are a few solutions to (eg. fusion tables or http://www.copypastemap.com ) that solve the issue.
If you need to quickly place multiple locations on the map, use geocoder or convert coordinates, http://www.hamstermap.com does the trick. Uses Google Maps.
