Here's the thing; If that display ever goes dead, then the plane itself is in a world of hurt already.
EMP? Well, if it gets hit by an EMP burst, the world's at war and those folks are dead already.
Don't you think they'd put at least some level of redundancy into a system like that? I don't believe it would be certified for flight if it didn't include some available backup capability. Even the iPad pilots use now is backed up by the co-pilot's iPad. One dies, you still have the other.
