Consider a few more steps when troubleshooting printer problems. Always turn off your printer before starting to troubleshoot and disconnect its Power cable from the electrical outlet. I have observed that most of the not-so-complicated printer problems can be resolved by simply power cycling the devices like printer, computer, and router etc. if there is a wireless connection. So always restart your devices before taking an advanced troubleshooting step. Printer components like roller, paper tray etc. are little delicate things, handle them carefully if you really have to open them. Refer to your printer's user manual to carefully open and handle such components. If you are unable to get things right, it is recommended to take help of a professional printer support service.
