"Conjunction"??? I think you mean "Contraction"!!!

At least when I was in school (like about 50 years ago) they called those little words with apostrophes, like "it's" and "they're" contractions. Conjunctions are words like "and", "or", "but", and so forth, which join two clauses. Am I mistaken?
