I was there when the industry changed. I welcomed it. In some places I helped drive it. Despite my distaste for the utter stupidity underlying commoditisation, professionally I've done very well out of it. I'm the boy people employ to put the wheels back on and I expect my chosen career path to last another few decades, because despite real evidence to the contrary, people like you are still telling them what they want to hear, not what they need to.

As soon as you create a set of components with a level of complexity and applicability to meet a wide range of needs integration is programming in another language.

I do way more than survive.
