I am one of those die-hard Outlook users and use with our Google Apps implementation here at TechRepublic. Do you have users who refuse to give up on Outlook in your organization? How have you managed those users?

So now all your company's contact info in somewhere on Google's servers - a company that makes its living by data mining... I haven't uploaded my contact data even to G-Mail, because I've got information in there that I don't care to see ever come up in a Google search.
Is there anything special for Android devices or can they use the default gmail app? Also will any apps register under the new gmail account?
Finally Google users has the chance to work like the rest of us, but I think that is too much effort and work to get less than you get with Office 365 and Outlook.
This article is perfectly timed! We have macs still running Leopard (10.5.9), due to several important programs that will NOT work with either Lion or Mt. Lion. So, because we can't upgrade from Leopard, Apple refuses to let us use iCloud. In comes Google Sync! I tried to set it up to sync the Calendars (iCal) and Contacts (Address Book) in OSX Leopard. The Google Sync end works, but Apple's Leopard Address Book absolutely will NOT sync to Google Sync or Apps. The iPhones sync fine to Google Sync, as far as the Calendars, and Contacts sync from Google to the iPhones, but the Apple computer's Leopard will NOT sync the Contacts (address book) at all to Google, (and iPhones). This Google Sync Apps solution looked like a great way for us to sync our iPhones and Mac computers Calendars and Contacts but, the hangup is the Apple OSX Leopard 10.5.9. It simply will NOT sync the Contacts with Google Sync Apps........Like I said, we have far too much money invested in other programs to upgrade to Apple's Lion or Mt. Lion. We have to stay at Leopard unless Apple fixes Lion and Mt. Lion to work with 3rd party software. Any other ideas for a syncing solution?

The article covers moving from Outlook to Google Apps, but what if someone who still uses Outlook sends an Outlook meeting invitation? Can Google apps read the invitation and if you accept it, will the event be put into the Google Calendar?

My current cloud email system doesn't even get to step 1. It delivers Outlook appointment invitation minus all detail (a blank email).

you can move your default Outlook .pst file into google drive and tell outllok that is your default folder and let it sync so you can access you entire outlook contents from the internet (like a small Exchange)
