I have tried a bunch of distros, but not a single one has come close to replacing Arch, after installing it 3 years ago. A 3 years old install, yet as fresh a day one, you can't beat that. If you stay out of the testing repo, you will be very stable too.

A very good choice for the "capable-of-following-instructions" Linux user.
