I have been using Yadis for just this type of backup service on my PCs at home. With File History built in to Windows 8, it looks like I have more options. What do you use for incremental backups? Does the Windows 8 File History intrigue you?
Miicrosoft wants you to put your system and data on 1 plate, your C disk/partition.
This leading to disaster, please put your system and data on SEPARATE disks/partitions.
So when you have a crash, you only have to restore your system and your precious data is SAFE all the time, as long you are doing not stupid things with it. Use the C disk/partition Only for temporarily medium, and put it as soon as possible to your data disks..........
If you do this, you are always in the clear..........

I would prefer it still reserve space on the 'only drive' to at least recover from those "oops". I'll worry about hardware failures but to have the entire feature off when it is at least on in 7, that I do not care for.
...which suffers from the fundamental flaw of not allowing you to automatically ditch old backups. They seem to have addressed that at least.
How do you protect the whole system in Win 8? Is it the same process of making a system image as in Win 7?
